Elgin is north of Lawton off I-44, on the far side of Fort Sill from the city. It has grown steadily, with newer subdivisions alongside the original town.
Because it's on the post's northeast side, it's the town buyers most often compare with north Lawton when they want to be close to the eastern gates.

Schools
Most addresses here are served by Elgin Public Schools. Attendance zones can split a neighborhood, so confirm the schools for a specific address with the district. The state publishes a report card for every public school at Oklahoma School Report Cards.
Getting to Fort Sill
Drive time depends on the gate you use and the time of day, and gate hours change. The reliable way to check is to map it from a specific address at the hour you'd be driving.
